When the hubs requests healthified pancakes on his birthday you oblige. 🥞🎉Thankfully these are easy enough to make when you're #39weeks #pregnant. It's a variation off my choc chip pancake recipe at FastBeets.com. (If you're looking for a totally #vegan version see that one). Here's the quick rundown:
In your blender throw in: ▪️2 cups oatbran (blend these dry to create a flour for a smoother pancake)
▪️one ripe banana ▪️tsp baking soda ▪️splash of vanilla extract ▪️2 whole pasture-raised eggs
▪️1/2 - 1 cup plant-based milk of choice
Blend ingredients, then cook batter on a hot pan with a dollop of coconut oil.
Serve with fruit, chocolate chips and maple syrup 😋 .

Not your average cereal bowl. 🥛🍫 I woke up needing chocolate in my life. So I amped up the milk to make this a #FastBeetsApproved breakfast bowl, that's healthy, satisfying, and keeps me so full! 🥄
FASTBEETS HACK: In my blender I threw 1.5 cups cashew milk + 1 scoop chocolate flavored plant based protein powder (I use @gardenoflife) + 1 banana + a handful of walnuts + 3 ice cubes. Poured the mixture in a bowl and topped with brown rice puffed cereal (I used minimally sweetened chocolate flavor) and a few berries. 🍓
It's got healthy fats, protein, and fiber that keeps you full all the way till lunch. And it's so full of 🍫! My childhood Cocoa Puffs are officially jealous.

And good fats to keep you full. People always tell me preggo is a great excuse to eat what you want. But that couldn't be further from the truth. When you eat for two, you're actually setting up the healthy habits for another human too. That's a lot of responsibility. Tonights room service dinner was def not FastBeets Approved. And that’s totally fine by me. It’s the last night of passover. The night where we eat bread after 8 days of not eating it. But today I was sick all day (I blame the pregnancy vaccine I had yesterday leaving me all sorts of fatigued) and consumed buckets of veggie soup. 🍲
I was also obliged to attend 4 engagement parties of 4 different cousins on the same night. (Could have been a freudian cold to get me out of attending 4 parties at nearly 8 months preggo) but I was so looking forward to all of them. (If you’re reading this, and I missed your party, sorry!). Instead I’m home eating my traditional break the passover feast of gluten and dairy filled pizza a la room service and not regretting one inflammation-filled bite!

Sometimes you feel like an organic, pasture-raised egg and sometimes you don't. Sometimes you feel like an avocado toast and sometimes you....nah....I can always go for an avo-toast. Standing all day on my feet is a no-no at #31weekspregnant. Edema or swelling will occur in my legs. To alleviate that, I could sit on the ground with my feet in the air for 30 mins or I can just eat asparagus. I'll choose the asparagus. It's great for any kind of bloating or swelling as it naturally removes excess liquid from your body. I like my asparagus raw & crunchy. How do you eat yours?
